BORN WITH THE DIVINE NATURE
Whereby are given unto us
exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that
is in the world through lust (2 Peter 1:4).
Being partakers of the divine nature means we’re associates of the God-kind; it’s not something we “became”; we were born that way. You
were born with the life and nature of God when you were born again. This is the reason it’s easy for you to please God; you don’t have to struggle, because His life is in you.
Some are still struggling, trying to become “better Christians”; that’s because they haven’t understood Christianity and the true Gospel of Jesus Christ. You can’t improve on perfect. The life in you is the God-life; it completely supplanted the human life you received from your parents. Just as there was nothing more for you to do to become more human after you were born of your parents, there’s nothing more required after you’re born again for you to be a partaker of the
divine nature.
Even when a child can’t walk or talk yet, you don’t say, “This child isn’t human.” Rather, you start teaching the child how to walk and talk. It’s the same with the life that we have in Christ. You have only one nature, which is the divine nature, and it can’t be improved upon. What you have to do is study the Word of God and learn to live the divine life; live the Christian life!
As you learn God’s Word, the ways of God and the life of faith, certainly, your spirit will be built. Your life will be improved; but you’ll not become more righteous, because your righteousness is the
righteousness of Christ. Righteousness is the divine nature; it’s the nature of God imparted to your spirit at the New Birth. According to the Bible, you’re as righteous as Jesus is, because He gave you His righteousness. Think deeply on this and let it create in you a new way of thinking and living.
CONFESSION
I have the God-life, the divine nature, the nature and ability to do right and produce works and fruits of righteousness. I’m the workmanship of God in Christ Jesus, His perfection of beauty. I walk conscious of my divine nature today and always. I reign in life over Satan and his cohorts of darkness, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
